Review

"The secret of my endurance. I still get letters in the mail. Mostly from cracked up men in tiny rooms with factory jobs or no jobs. Who are living with whores or no women at all. Just booze and madness.".

With this sentence and some nice particle transformation effects "Doomsday" starts off and takes you on a journey through zooming fractal layers with beautiful colors and shapes and one of the best soundtracks a demo has ever seen.

In between you will also find some truely fucked up demoparty pictures in black and white and a scene with cubes (that seem to show a blurred face at the end) with a reference to the well known poet and novelist Charles Bukowski, which is the author of the opening poem of the demo. The the trip through the endless space of beautiful zooming and fading fractals continues.

The demo ends with a nice screen with black roses showing the credits of the demo. Afterwards the music restarts. Listen to it again. It's worth it.

This is truely the best demo on the Xbox up to now. Everything fits perfect and it gives you a nice demo trip.

The demo itself runs smoothly using the Xbox switched to PAL mode. When trying to watch the demo on NTSC mode you will experience some glitches throughout the whole demo. Please note that the screen stays black for some seconds at the start of the demo. So don't reset too early!

Conclusion: Well done, Complex. Hope to see more of you on the Xbox some day.
