How to get the demos on your Xbox.
First of all you need a modded Xbox. If it is softmodded or with a ModChip doesn't matter. If you have a naked retail Xbox, please
go inform yourself about the possibilities.
If your Xbox is modded and runs a dashboard like xbmc, evo-x, avalaunch or something similar, you instantly get access to your Xbox
by connecting to it's IP in your network. Also a crossover cable will do if you don't have a network to connect your Xbox to your
PC.
What you now need is the small program called QUIX, done by the
team that also created the Avalaunch dashboard. It works with all dashboards that offer an ftp server, but if you want to use the
Burst-Mode you have to use Avalaunch as dashboard. The Burst-Mode offers much better transfer rates than the ordinary ftp connection.
Also if you wish to use the Manage-Xbox function, you also have to use the Avalaunch dash.
When starting QUIX you get the following window:
We start with setting up the connection to your Xbox. Please click on "Add" in the upper right corner
and chose "New Connection". Then fill in the fields in the window that just
has opened. User and Password are normally both set to "xbox" except you changed this in your dash. The current IP of your Xbox can
be found at the dashboard screen. Or in the info screen of the XBMC. The description just holds the name of this connection. Finally
click on "Test Connection" to check if the entered data are valid and everything works as it should.
Now you've already
succeeded setting up the connection. The easy part is ahead now:
Please chose "Load ISO" on the left side and then click on "Load ISO" on the toolbar in the middle section of the program.
Using the file requester that just has opened now you chose one or more ISOs containing the demos you want to upload and
click "Open".
Now the Demos are listed in the middle section of QUIX and you can chose the Main folder where the files will be copied and
the folder (here it is called Game Folder) that will be created for the files.
If you're finished setting up the appropriate folders you can click on "FTP Upload All" to copy the demos to your Xbox. You'll
get a status window showing the current progress of the transfer. When it's finished you can start the demos through your dashboard.
Congratulations! You can now enjoy the full beauty of the demos on your Xbox.
